As part of the successful application to the DIGIFED initiative, which is funded by the EU, Flycom Technologies obtained funds for the implementation of the FLAI project.
FLAI is an innovative solution that, by using state-of-the-art artificial intelligence and computer vision algorithms for automatic classification, semantic and instance segmentation, enables automated analysis of geospatial data obtained through the use of LiDAR (Light Detection and Ranging) technology.
FLAI will enable us to optimize our internal processes with reference to LiDAR data processing, and in addition, we will develop a new business model – software as a service (SaaS). Potential customers for this business model are all global business entities that need quality and fast processed data that have been captured in the process of remote sensing (i.e. companies such as Flycom Technologies, large infrastructure companies, government surveying agencies and more).
As part of the development of the FLAI solution, we will work with an external partner Digital Catapult (London, UK). Digital Catapult will provide the necessary credits for cloud computing on the Google Cloud Platform so that we can leverage Graphical Processing Units (GPUs) and Tensor Processing Units (TPUs) to successfully develop and train the algorithms.
