.... Most of the components in the powerline network show an increase in temperature when malfunctioning. This underlying fact is crucial for thermography, a method of inspecting electrical and mechanical equipment by identifying and observing overheating points. The increase in temperature in an electrical circuit could be due to loose connections or a worn bearing in the case of mechanical equipment. By observing the heat patterns in operational system components, faults can be located and their seriousness evaluated. .. Zaradi tokovnih obremenitev na omrežju, se v primeru okvare ali poškodbe pokažejo znaki pregrevanja. Pri termografskem pregledu, se tovrstna pregrevanja identificirajo na podlagi temperaturnega podpisa, ki je viden na IR kameri.  Razlogov za nastanek takšnih pregrevanj je več, vendar pa se napake pogosto pojavljajo na prevodnih spojih, kateri se zaradi vdora vode in temperaturnega raztezanja še dodatno deformirajo. Posledice so zmanjšana nosilnost, znatna obraba in deformacija materiala. Z opazovanjem lokacij pregrevanj pri znanih obremenitvah se najdene napake dokumentirajo, hkrati pa se jim določi stopnja kritičnosti. ....

....One of our key preventive techniques during aerial inspection is thermographic survey of large infrastructural objects using infrared (IR) camera. Periodic examination of network assures our clients with the optimal way of monitoring the state of infrastructure. With an inventory of critical elements showing signs of overheating, they can replace these elements before possible malfunction or unexpected power outage during operation. We use a high-performance infrared camera with double lens system for quick identification of overheating spots from a safe distance.

By observing and analyzing the thermal signature of an operating component, our team of thermographers is able to provide valuable information about the continued operability of that component. Using the latest equipment, our thermographers detect overheating and assist in prioritizing repair and replacement schedules. Results assist in reducing outages, limiting replacement costs, improving service reliability, and avoiding downtime.

On board the helicopter, a professional high-end system ensures superb image quality and high precision measurement accuracy. Our airborne inspection services include data analysis as well as complete and extensive documentation in print and in electronic form. .. Ena ključnih preventivnih metod pregledov iz zraka je IR diagnostika velikih infrastrukturnih objektov z uporabo infra-rdeče kamere. Unable to locate the source of the problem on the powerline, a German transmission operator invited Flycom to perform IR inspection on its powerlines to identify overheating locations on the network that could potentially lead to equipment failure or even conductor rupture. ..

Zarad težav pri odkrivanju napak na njihovem daljnovodu je nemški operater naročil Flycomov IR diagnostični pregled za odkritje kritičnih mest pregrevanj na prevodnikih in stičiščih. ....

Flycom performed IR inspection in the cold and cloudy weather at the 50% load of the transmission line. The powerline was inspected with our IR cameras and two overheated compression joints were identified. The compression joints were diagnosed and their GPS location dully noted. The situation has been reported to the client who decided to send the identified joints to the independent institute for the further inspection. ..

2. STANJE

Flycom je opravil diagnostični pregled v hladnem, oblačnem vremenupri 50% bremenitvi daljnovoda. Na območju pregleda je Flycom z IR kamero identificiral dva spoja, ki sta se pregrevala, katerima sta se določili natančni lokaciji, izmerjena temperatura in temperaturna razlika. Na podlagi predloženih podatkov, se je operater odločil kritična spoja dati v pregled neodvisnemu inštitutu v analizo. ....

....3. IMPACT & ADVANTAGE

Through the IR inspection Flycom was able to identify the overheating points within the transmission network. The client was able to replace the damaged joints with the new ones in order to prevent any further damage or even conductor rupture. The further analysis showed that the corrosion in the joints increased the resistance of the current by a factor of 30, which increased the overheating of the joint and resulted in material deformation and reduced strength. ..

3. REZULTAT & PREDNOSTI

Z naročilom Flycomovih diagnostičnih storitev je bilo mogoče identificirati kritična mesta pregrevanja na daljnovodu. Naročnik se je po pregledu odločil za zamenjavo komponent kritičnih segmentov pred nastankom večje škode na opremi ali celo pretrganja prevodnika. Nadaljnja analiza je pokazala, da se je zaradi pregrevanja upornost na analiziranem spoju povečala za faktor 30, kar je povzročilo deformacijo in oslabitev materialov. ....

....How does it work?

Corona discharge is a common phenomenon in power lines external insulation. Without effective detection it may cause serious defect as the material degradation negatively influences the electrical and mechanical performance of the power grid. The ultraviolet (UV) imagery technology has been widely used to detect the corona discharge in the industry. UV detection can locate problematic conditions such as shorted insulator bells, defective insulators, contamination, or even improperly installed components.

Kako deluje?

Pojav korone je pogost pojav ob izolativnih materialih na daljnovodu. Brez predhodnega identificiranja lahko zaradi občutne degradacije izolativnega materiala pride do hujših okvar in posledično izpadov. Tehnologija za detekcijo koron s pomočjo UV filtrov se v energetski industriji redno uporablja. S kamero se pogosto opazuje kratke stike in iskrenje ob stikih prevodnika in izolatorjev, na zaščitnih iskrilih, na mestih visoke onesnaženosti opreme ter mestih nepravilno nameščenih komponent. ....

....Using the latest UV technology, we are able to find defective components in the early stages of degradation without the loading of the line as UV inspection is completely voltage dependent.

For the inspection and detection of corona discharge and arcing on overhead transmission lines and in substations, Flycom uses today's most advanced and sensitive daytime UV-inspection camera. The daytime capability makes corona inspection a low-cost procedure, without the need for nighttime inspections. 

Integrated into Flycom's specially adapted helicopter, UV- inspection camera allows for full airborne inspections of all overhead powerlines and substations. UV sensor display is overlaid with classical RGB video to pinpoint the exact location of a defect. Our system captures the complete flight route, both on digital videotape an on our Corona inspection camera. The videotape is annotated with exact GNSS co-ordinates enabling our clients to localize positions of faults immediately. Clients also receive a detailed and comprehensive report of logging errors found on the inspected lines.

Z najnaprednejšo tehnologijo zaznavanja koron, smo sposobni identificirati okvarjene komponente v zgodnjih fazah obrabe. Pri UV pregledih tokovna obremenitev daljnovodov ne igra vloge saj so pojavi korone odvisni od napetosti.

Za zaznavanje in dokumentiranje pojavov korone uporabljamo visoko tehnološko dnevno UV kamero katera nam omogoča cenovno ugoden pregled izveden s kombinacijo več senzorjev hkrati brez potreb po nočnem letenju.

Celoviti in obsežni zračni pregledi so izvedeni s pomočjo integracije senzorjev na Flycomove helikopterje modificirane za dela v zraku. Zajem slike se izvaja z superpozicijo signala UV senzorja preko RGB videa. Vsem zajetim podatkom je po obdelavi dodana geolokacijska informacija preko GNSS sprejemnika za natančno določitev mesta najdene napake. Po končanem pregledu je operaterju predano podrobno poročilo vseh najdenih napak z dokaznim gradivom. ....
